A few weeks ago I had the privilege of hanging out with the gang from Radio Lab. We had some informal chats about research and as a consequence I decided to try and conduct a few 5 minute interviews with different researchers about one exciting project.

I liked the outcome of the first few, so I decided to make it into a podcast…

Now for the name. I got the suggestion for “Arming the Donkeys” from my slightly odd but interesting and charming friend Sasha Raskin. Sasha suggested that we are all a bit like donkeys — in general good and effective, capable of many things, but also not particularly elegant and clearly stubborn. Arming is all about getting better, in our case learning something new and this is how we got Arming the Donkeys.
